JDHS ACE House Build Project

The Juneau School District finalized the details for this house build project in
October with CBJ. Much planning help was provided by Russ McDougal to the
staff and students as they developed the house plans, costed the project,
negotiated the land sale, and finalized plans for the project.  The District has
subcontracted  with SAGA, through the support of the Construction Education
Foundation grant, to handle the ongoing construction management with a
construction manager and Americorp member, to keep the project moving
while the students from the JDHS House Build class come back and forth to
the site with their teacher,  during their double-blocked scheduled class each
day. A blog was initiated to document project activities with pictures and
summary updates as to the progress of the house build
(www.jdhshouse.blogspot.com). We encourage you to watch this house being
built and come and talk with the crew.
